The pros of this tool used to create this lesson on the writing process are that students can get more involved in learning the material because unlike the slideshare, which in my opinion isn't much different than a powerpoint, a teacher using the voicethread can add voice like a slideshare or powerpoint, but can also add meaning to the lesson by stopping it along the way and pointing out certain things that he/she thinks the student should know. Plans, gives the kids a "Brainpop" video to watch to encourge more brainstorming ideas before the students actually publish their work. t this point, this teacher, Jamie Edwards, the developer and owner of Power Ed. The steps in the writing process are as follows: 1) prewriting where brainstorming takes place 2) drafting where the writing begins 3) revising where students check each others papers for mistakes that need to be fixed 4) editing where spelling, grammatical errors, and sentence structure are addressed and 5) publishing your work so that others may see the finished product. As far as the presentation goes, I think this is a great tool for teaching the five steps of the writing process because, like this presentation, the lesson can be stopped any time the students have questions and restarted again making it a great tool to use with kids. I think kids would really love this as well. I really liked this presentation far better than the slideshare one. Lol! Anyways, the rationale for using this type of presentation is that it can be stopped right in mid action and either notes can be added to it or circles and lines can be drawn to make a point or stress something not otherwise noticed. Quite funny how no matter how hard he tries, the coyote just can't seem to outsmart the roadrunner. I love this voicethread presentation example above with the Coyote and "Roadrunner" in it. The cons are that the slides need an internet connection in order to be viewed by others online. They, just like powerpoint, can have sound added to them.

The pros of slideshare are that they are free and are very compatable with powerpoint. In this lesson, the teacher focuses on one particular step of the writing process, "drafting." She was easy to understand and easy to follow along with. She also did a good job of teaching it to the students. She even added arrows to help her demonstrate it.
